Record a meeting in a room
No bot joins. The app listens through your own phone or laptop's microphone, so it works in any room. Tell everyone that you're recording: in some places everyone must agree first. Put the device near the middle of the table, press New recording, confirm that everyone knows and agreed, and talk in any language. The transcript fills in about every 30 seconds.
Recording a call
In the browser, {appName} records your microphone only, never your computer's sound or another app: on a call it hears the other people only as far as your microphone does, and with headphones not at all. To record everyone on a Zoom, Teams or Meet call, use the desktop app. Tell everyone on the call that you're recording.
Install the desktop app
Get it from the Download page, for a Mac (macOS 14.2 or later) or Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). On a Mac, open the downloaded file and drag {appName} to Applications. On Windows, run the installer. While the app is new, Windows may show “Windows protected your PC”: choose More info, then Run anyway. The app tells you when a new version is out.
Pause and resume
While recording, Pause stops listening at once: nothing is captured until you press Resume. Use it when someone asks you to stop. Stop ends the recording; the summary writes itself once the last audio is transcribed.
If recording doesn't start
The browser has to allow the microphone. If it asks, choose Allow. If you said no before, allow the microphone for this site in the browser's settings, then try again. The meeting page says what went wrong.
If the Wi-Fi drops
Your audio is saved on your device first. If the connection drops, recording goes on and nothing is lost: it uploads by itself when you're back online. Closing the browser keeps it too; it uploads the next time you open the app and sign in on that device.
Import a recording
Open a meeting's ⋯ menu and choose Import audio or a transcript. Say what it is and confirm that everyone agreed to be recorded, then choose an audio file, or paste or choose a transcript (.txt, .vtt or .srt).
