Verbiva vs Granola
Granola and Verbiva both take notes without a bot joining your call. Granola is the more mature product, with Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android apps and integrations such as Notion, Zapier and HubSpot. Verbiva is newer and built for people whose meetings happen in more than one language.
Disclosure: this page is published by Verbiva, one of the two products compared. It tries to be fair. Granola facts come from Granola's own pages, read on 30 Oct 2026, and may have changed since.
What's the short answer?
- Choose Granola if you mostly meet in one language on video calls, want phone apps, or use tools like Notion, Zapier or HubSpot.
- Choose Verbiva if your meetings mix languages, you want the summary in a language you pick, you want the app itself in your language, or you record in rooms, classes and talks from a phone or laptop browser.
Where is Granola better?
- It's available now, on more devices. Granola lists apps for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android [G1]. Verbiva launches on 8 Dec 2026 as a website plus Mac and Windows apps; on phones, you use the website.
- It hears your calls on desktop today. Granola uses your computer's audio [G1]. On the Verbiva website, a call is heard only through your microphone (and not at all with headphones). Verbiva's Mac and Windows apps, planned for launch day, record the computer's sound along with your microphone.
- More transcription languages. Granola says it supports 31 languages on desktop and 17 on mobile [G2]. Verbiva lets you set 21 spoken languages.
- Integrations and admin. Granola's Business plan includes integrations (Notion, Zapier, HubSpot and more) and API access; Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM and HIPAA-compliant workspaces [G3]. At launch Verbiva connects to Google Calendar and Outlook, and has none of the others.
- No audio kept. Granola says it doesn't store meeting audio on desktop, and on mobile keeps only the transcript [G4]. If you'd rather no audio exists at all, that's simpler. Verbiva keeps audio for a set time, then deletes it by itself (7 days on Free).
- Where you can use it. Verbiva isn't offered in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Quebec for now.
Where is Verbiva different?
- Mixed-language meetings. Every recording starts on Auto-detect, and each part of the recording gets its own language, so nobody picks one up front. Granola's desktop app has a multi-language setting; its mobile app chooses a single language to transcribe in [G2]. Mixed-language meetings are still being tested on Verbiva: see the multilingual meetings page for what's known.
- Summaries in the language you choose. You pick "My language" from 21 languages, and can read any summary in another one. Granola's desktop notes are in English or "the majority language that was transcribed"; on mobile, the majority language [G2].
- Answers in the language you ask in. Ask about a meeting in Hindi or Spanish and the answer comes back in that language. Granola's chat can translate quotes from a transcript when asked [G2].
- The app in your language. Verbiva's interface comes in 9 languages, including Arabic (right to left), Hindi and Gujarati; 8 are machine-translated and marked beta. Granola says its interface is English only [G2].
- Consent, saved. Before each recording, Verbiva asks you to confirm everyone agreed, and saves that with the meeting. Granola says it's best practice to make sure participants know, and offers built-in ways to notify them [G4].
- Share only some points. Pick the points, preview, share. People get a frozen copy (teammates read it in their own language) and never see the transcript or audio.
- Hide personal details. An optional mode masks email addresses, phone numbers and card, bank and ID numbers in what's shown and what the AI reads. It doesn't catch everything, and audio isn't masked.
- Keeps recording offline. Audio is saved on your device first and uploads when the connection comes back.
